On the northwest coast of Ibiza , just a short 10-minute drive from San Miguel , is Benirrás , a beach that holds a privileged position among the most famous on the island.

Embraced by a backdrop of pine-crowned cliffs, Benirrás appears as a seductive mix of pebbles and sand, with rock formations guarding its ends. Its waters, of incomparable clarity, make it a paradise for snorkelers.

600 meters from the heart of the cove, stands an imposing 27-meter-high rock formation known as Cap Bernat. Some compare her to a woman in prayer, while others see in her the silhouette of the Sphinx. Whatever your interpretation, it is this enigmatic rock that turns the sunsets in Benirrás into a spectacle like no other.

Imagine the sun, a radiant orange orb, slowly descending toward the horizon, painting a canvas of warm colors over the sky and sea. The silhouette of Cap Bernat stands out against this dreamlike backdrop, adding a touch of mystery and majesty to the scene. It is a magical moment that will leave you breathless.

As the afternoon falls each day, the Benirrás cove transforms into a natural setting where music, dance and the connection with the environment come together in a unique show.

A ritual that begins with soft percussions, performed by bohemian locals who, for decades, have gathered in this magical corner of Ibiza to pay tribute to the sun.

As the sun approaches the horizon and the sky turns orange and pink, the music intensifies, joining drums with timpani, bongos and cymbals, creating a vibrant and contagious atmosphere.

The audience, captivated by the rhythm, soon joins in the dance, moving their bodies to the music as the sun slowly bids farewell to the day.

More than a simple festival, the Benirrás Drum Festival is a sensory experience that invites freedom , connection with nature and shared joy .

A meeting that has transcended its origins to become an essential ritual for locals and visitors, who year after year gather in Benirrás to celebrate life, music and the beauty of an Ibizan sunset.

In summer, a small hippie market opens almost daily, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Stalls sell fashion, accessories, crafts and more. There are 3 restaurants with reasonable prices and a beach bar.

If you are planning a trip to Ibiza, don't miss the opportunity to witness this unique spectacle and soak up the positive energy that is breathed on Benirrás beach.

An event that will undoubtedly leave you with an indelible memory.

Services : hammocks, umbrellas, showers, restaurants, bars, boutique, hippy market, lifeguards

Here are some tips to fully enjoy the Benirrás Drum Festival:

  • Arrive early: The party starts a couple of hours before sunset, so I recommend arriving early to find a good spot on the beach.

  • Bring something to sit or lie on: The sand is not very comfortable for standing for a long time, so I recommend bringing a towel, a mat or a folding chair.

  • Don't bring valuables: The party can be quite crowded, so I recommend not bringing valuables that could be lost or stolen.

  • Respect the environment: Benirrás beach is a natural place, so I ask you to respect it and not leave any type of trash. Use the containers when you throw away your rubbish and, if you smoke, make sure to put out and take away the butts.

  • Enjoy the moment: The most important thing is that you enjoy the music, the dance and the unique atmosphere of the Benirrás Drum Festival.

How to get?

It can be reached by car (We recommend that you arrive early in the morning if you want to ensure a parking space) and by public transport .

On the beach, there are two parking lots with capacity for 400 cars.

If you take the bus , there are 4 routes:

- L23 Ibiza Town - Benirrás

- L23A San Antonio - Benirrás

- L23B Santa Eulalia - Benirrás

- L23C Portinatx - Benirrás

They all pass through the bus stop known as Sa Plana , where there is a large parking space and from where you can also reach the beach by bus on Sundays, you can find the schedules here.
